The Glory That Is Matisyahu
Upon leaving my dorm this afternoon, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Matisyahu was in Austin. I was even more surprised when I discovered that he was performing a show that was right by campus, at 1:30 PM and, best of all, FREE. Unfortunately, I had class at 1. I decided that the show took precedence over class so I busted out of class a bit early and darted for the show. I was not disappointed. I was able to squeeze my way to the front and witness a great performance. Afterward, I was able to share a few words with him and get a couple of pictures. Anyways, he's a real talented dude who enjoys keeping it real. If you're the same, make sure to check him and his new album, Light (which released yesterday), out. Your ears will thank you.

Fleetwood's Kit Kat
Last week I was in Dallas by Mockingbird and this incredible bike shop caught my eye. Nestled between the SMU campus and Mockingbird Station lies this unique bicycle boutique that is Fleetwood's Kit Kat. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by the owner, Fleetwood. This kind and passionate fellow introduced me to the store and more importantly, the bikes. Specializing in cruiser bikes, they stock the most exclusive bicycles, including Hawk Classics from Germany, making them the only Hawk Classic dealer in the states. In addition, they are experts on customization and pride themselves on detail and uniqueness. If you're in the Dallas area, make sure to stop by. Whether you're interested in a custom beach cruiser or just want to take one of the rentals for a ride down the Katy Trail, Fleetwood's Kit Kat is where it's at.

Designer Joey Roth recently made speakers from porcelain, wood and cork. Apparently the porcelain's density and "acoustical deadness" rivals that of wood or plastic enabling the cone shape. Due out in October, no official word on pricing yet, but it'll be estimated around $400-500.
